There are times when the experiences in chronic illness can be so dark and difficult that it seems nearly impossible to believe that the sun will actually shine again. During those times, I tend to pray more deeply and more sincerely for God to show his hand of mercy in my life. These are the rough days and it's not always lifted right away. Sometimes we must wait. Sometimes we must endure. Sometimes we must submit. But somehow, it seems that the sun does return. A portion of the pain is lifted. Hope is renewed. Direction is given. Understanding is gained. Love is offered. Peace is felt.
"Wait for the Dawn" is a song that I wrote during a time that I was waiting for the sun to shine again on my journey.

Darkness falls
I close my eyes
Take a breath

All the King's Horses and All the King's Men
I'm 34 years old, have a great husband and 4 wonderful kids and have been pretty darn sick for more than 7 years. People that know me say that I don't look sick, but take my word for it, please. :)
My journey has been LONG and BUMPY and I've learned a lot! When you are faced with chronic illness, you find out that traditional medicine has its place, but can only take you so far. You learn that you must look outside the box if you want to reclaim your health. You get all excited when you discover there is a whole world of alternative medicine, only to realize that it is a jungle in and of itself.
The light really turns on when you see that in order to navigate through this whole crazy thing, you have to work hard, pray hard, and listen to the inner voice that can guide you through it all.
So maybe "all the king's horses and all the king's men" couldn't put Humpty together again but I do believe that "all the kings horses and all the king's men" can combine their efforts with Humpty Dumpty and the king himself to work through it all, piece by piece.
So here it is...my musings on the ups and downs of healing chronic illness.
